Job summary

Blackpanda is seeking a Junior Incident Responder to work with senior responders on live engagements, helping clients contain, investigate, and recover from real cyber attacks. This is a delivery-focused role with mentorship to grow into a full responder.

You will be coached through training, participate in instructor-led exercises, and contribute observations to the team as you develop your IR tradecraft in a global, diverse group.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in cybersecurity or a related IT field.
• Genuine interest in incident response through study, side projects, or community involvement.
• Comfort with at least one OS (Windows, Linux, macOS) and willingness to become proficient in all three.
• Basic scripting ability in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Clear written and verbal English; professional communication with teammates and clients.

Responsibilities

• Support senior consultants on active incidents, assisting with containment, evidence collection, forensic analysis, and reporting.
• Acquire and triage forensic artifacts across Windows, Linux, macOS, and cloud environments under guidance.
• Analyze logs, endpoint telemetry, network data, and malware artifacts, contributing to investigation timelines.
• Use scripting (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) to assist with collection, parsing, and automation tasks where useful.
• Document findings clearly and contribute sections to client deliverables under senior review.
