Position Overview
We are seeking a highly driven Junior Fund Manager cum Business Analyst to support our investment, portfolio management, and research activities. This hybrid role combines investment execution, fund operations, and strategic business analysis, offering exposure across venture investments, private equity, public markets, and alternative assets.
The ideal candidate is analytical, resourceful, and eager to grow into a full fund-management professional, with strong interest in financial modelling, portfolio analytics, sector research, and investor-relations support.
1. Fund Management Support
- Assist in monitoring performance of fund portfolios (VCC sub-funds, SPVs, listed and private assets).
- Support portfolio rebalancing, cash-flow management, and capital call planning.
- Conduct daily/weekly NAV tracking, valuation updates, and liquidity planning.
- Work with auditors, fund administrators, custodians, and banks to ensure accurate reporting.
- Prepare materials for investment committee meetings and fund governance documentation.
2. Investment Research & Analysis
- Perform industry and company research across target sectors.
- Build and maintain financial models: DCF, comps, scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis.
- Support due-diligence work: market sizing, competitive landscape, regulatory checks, valuation benchmarking.
- Analyse risks, business models, and intangible-asset value (IP, data, brand, commercial contracts).
3. Deal Sourcing & Execution
- Assist senior fund managers in screening potential deals and conducting preliminary evaluations.
- Prepare pitch decks, teasers, investment memos, and transaction readiness documents.
- Coordinate meetings with founders, advisors, and external stakeholders.
- Support term-sheet preparation and documentation workflows.
4. Business Analytics & Strategic Projects
- Conduct cross-portfolio analytics (growth, KPIs, margins, financial health).
- Support strategic initiatives such as fundraising, investor onboarding, and VCC structuring.
- Prepare dashboards, scorecards, and reporting packs for management and investors.
- Analyse operational and financial data to provide insights and recommendations.
5. Investor Relations & Reporting
- Prepare monthly/quarterly fund reports, portfolio updates, and investor presentations.
- Respond to investor queries and provide data-driven insights.
- Support events, roadshows, and investor-engagement activities.
Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering, or equivalent.
- Strong analytical, financial modelling, and research skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, Power BI/Tableau, or financial analytics tools preferred.
- Understanding of fund structures (VCC, SPV, PE/VC funds) is a plus.
- Familiarity with corporate finance, valuation methodologies, and financial statements.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
