Job summary

Anradus Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Junior Data Engineer to join our marine equipment data team in Tuas West.

You will help build and maintain data pipelines for performance monitoring and remote systems, handling time-series sensor data, ETL processes, and APIs using Python and SQL. The role emphasizes AWS cloud familiarity (S3, RDS, Lambda, Glue), database operations, and scripting in a collaborative, on-site environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a Diploma or Degree in a relevant field with strong academic records.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing, API development, and data pipelines.
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT pipelines, data integration and database optimization.
• Hands-on experience with pandas, NumPy and MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Exposure to AWS services (S3, RDS, Lambda, Glue) through projects or internships.
• Able to use AI coding tools with code review and testing; Linux, Git, and scripting basics.
• Knowledge of real-time data pipelines, Docker, Airflow or data streaming is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test ETL/ELT processes for reliable data collection, storage and retrieval.
• Support AWS cloud services including S3, RDS, Lambda and AWS Glue.
• Assist with database operations, SQL queries, data validation and quality checks.
• Support APIs and backend services using Python and SQL for AI/ML applications and web platforms.
• Monitor data pipelines, troubleshoot issues and improve processing efficiency.
• Prepare technical documentation, test reports and data processing procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the data engineering team in developing and maintaining data pipelines for equipment performance monitoring and remote monitoring applications.

• Assist in collecting, cleaning, transforming, and processing time-series sensor data from shipboard machinery.

• Develop and test ETL/ELT processes to ensure reliable data collection, storage, and retrieval.

• Support AWS cloud services, including S3, RDS, Lambda, and AWS Glue.

• Assist with database operations, SQL queries, data validation, and quality checks under the guidance of senior team members.

• Support the development and testing of APIs and backend services using Python and SQL for AI/ML applications and web platforms.

• Monitor data pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and improve data processing efficiency with guidance from the team.

• Prepare technical documentation, test reports, and data processing procedures.

• Work closely with data engineers and other team members on projects and technical tasks.

• Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, IT, or related fields.

• Strong Python and SQL skills for databases, data processing, and API development.

• Knowledge of ETL/ELT pipelines, data integration, transformation, and database optimisation.

• Hands-on experience with pandas, NumPy, and MySQL or PostgreSQL.

• Familiarity with AWS S3, RDS, Lambda, and Glue through academic, internship, or personal projects.

• Able to use AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) with proper code review and testing.

• Familiar with Linux, Git, and basic scripting.

• Knowledge of real-time data pipelines, Docker, Apache Airflow, or data streaming is an advantage; training provided.
