discovermarket Asia Pte. Ltd. in Singapore is seeking a Junior AI Scientist, fresh out of university, to join the data science team and help build AI-driven capabilities across our insurance platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
• Recent graduate or up to 2 years of experience in AI, ML, software engineering, or data science; internships or projects in InsurTech/fintech are a plus
• Ability to work in a multinational and multicultural environment
• Fluency in English

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy AI-driven claims processing automation to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Build customer service chatbots using large language models (LLMs) to provide policy information and assist with claims
• Implement fraud detection models using predictive analytics and anomaly detection techniques
• Explore AI applications in underwriting automation to assess risk and optimize pricing
• Design and optimize AI-based policy recommendation systems for personalized offerings
• Own the design, build, and ongoing maintenance of a sophisticated LLM agent application

We are currently recruiting for a Junior AI Scientist to join our team in Singapore, reporting to the Head of Data Science of discovermarket.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Junior AI Scientist, fresh out of university, to help build and deploy AI-driven capabilities across our insurance platform. This is a hands-on role focused on prototyping and shipping end-to-end applications, from backend services to polished front-ends, in areas such as claims processing automation, customer service chatbots, fraud detection, and AI-driven underwriting. The ideal candidate is resourceful, a fast learner, and excited to work across machine learning, large language models (LLMs), and computer vision to enhance our platform’s efficiency and user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

AI-Powered Insurance Solutions

• Develop and deployAI-driven claims processing automationto improve efficiency and accuracy
• Buildcustomer service chatbotsusinglarge language models (LLMs),to provide policy information, assist with claims, and improve customer engagement
• Implementfraud detection modelsusing predictive analytics and anomaly detection techniques

• Work hands-on with modern agent frameworks such as LangGraph, selecting and adapting the right tooling as the agent landscape evolves

Requirements

Essential

• Education:Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience:Recent graduate or up to 2 years of experience in AI, machine learning, software engineering, or data science. Internships, academic projects, or personal projects in InsurTech, fintech, or related fields are a plus
• InternationalOrientation:Ability to work in a multinational and multicultural environment
• Fluency in English

Core Skills & Expertise

• Foundational knowledge of AI and machine learning concepts, with exposure to areas such as computer vision, LLMs, or predictive analytics through coursework, internships, or personal projects
• Solid mathematical and statistical foundations
• Resourcefulness and the ability to build and deploy small end-to-end applications — from backend services to clean, user-facing front-ends
• Proficiency in Python; familiarity with R or other data science languages is a plus
• Hands-on exposure to machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn) through projects or coursework
• Familiarity with at least one cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and an interest in learning to deploy and operate cloud-based services
• Fast learner who can quickly pick up new topics and transfer knowledge from one domain to another
• Flexibility to work on a range of prototypes and innovation products as priorities evolve
• Strong interest in insurance applications of AI, including claims automation, fraud detection, and customer interaction
