Job summary

ATOP Academy in Joo Chiat, SG, is seeking a JC Science Tutor for a full-time, on-site position. You will plan and deliver engaging JC Science lessons aligned with the Singapore MOE JC Science syllabus for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Responsibilities include marking assignments, monitoring student progress, and providing timely feedback. You will create worksheets, revision materials, and examination practice activities while upholding the school's standards.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed science-related degree or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge in Biology, Chemistry or Physics.
• Familiarity with Singapore MOE JC Science syllabus is an advantage.
• Passion for Science and education, especially with JC students.
• Teaching or tutoring experience is welcome but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and delivering engaging JC Science lessons aligned with the Singapore MOE JC Science syllabus.
• Teach and reinforce key scientific concepts in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics according to the subjects and levels assigned.
• Mark assignments, monitor students’ progress, and provide timely and constructive feedback.
• Create a positive, engaging, supportive, and disciplined learning environment.
• Assist in developing worksheets, lesson notes, revision materials, assessment questions, and examination-practice activities.
• Uphold ATOP Academy’s teaching standards, values, and commitment to academic excellence.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or having completed a GCE A-Level, Diploma, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Education, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge and interest in Science, particularly Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics.
• Familiarity with the Singapore MOE JC Science syllabus and assessment requirements is an advantage.
• Passion for Science, education, and working with JC school students.
• Prior teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or education-related experience is an advantage but is not required.
• Students, undergraduates, fresh graduates, and applicants seeking teaching experience are welcome to apply.

Internship & Teaching Opportunity

This position provides an opportunity for suitable candidates to gain practical teaching experience in a commercial school environment. Teaching interns will receive guidance and mentoring and may progressively take on greater teaching responsibilities based on their qualifications, subject knowledge, experience, and performance.
