Job summary

EC1 Partners is partnering with a leading global electronic trading firm in Singapore. We are seeking a Software Engineer to join a highly technical team responsible for building and enhancing the firm’s client trading infrastructure, supporting sophisticated institutional trading activity across global markets.

The role covers the full trading lifecycle, with exposure to order management, exchange connectivity, smart order routing, internalisation and clearing.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong commercial development experience with Java.
• Experience designing and building distributed, scalable or highly concurrent applications.
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures and software design.
• Experience working within complex, performance-sensitive technology environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to take ownership and work effectively within a collaborative engineering team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Designing and building high-performance trading systems and infrastructure.
• Building scalable Java applications supporting electronic order flow.
• Enhancing systems across order management, routing, connectivity and post-trade workflows.
• Improving the performance, reliability and efficiency of existing platforms.
• Working on distributed and highly concurrent systems operating in high-throughput environments.
• Identifying future technical requirements and designing scalable solutions.
• Investigating complex production and performance issues across the trading stack.
• Working closely with experienced engineers and stakeholders across technology and trading.
• Taking ownership of projects from initial design through to implementation and production.
