Job summary

A technology systems company in Singapore is seeking a skilled System Engineer Apprentice - Infrastructure to design and support core IT infrastructure systems. The role involves managing servers, storage, networking, and virtualization technologies, ensuring high availability and security. Ideal candidates will have strong skills in operating systems, virtualization, and networking, and must be current students from NTU, NUS, or SIT. This opportunity is structured for a 4–6 month credit-bearing internship.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
• Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V), storage systems (SAN/NAS), and cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPN, routing, switching).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure systems including servers, storage, virtualization platforms, and networking.
• Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning to ensure optimal performance.
• Administer and support Windows/Linux server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies.
• Manage virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies.
• Ensure infrastructure security by applying updates, patches, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with IT and development teams to support deployments, migrations, and upgrades.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.
• Provide Tier 2 support for escalated issues and outages.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and respond to infrastructure‑related incidents.
