Role: IT Software Asset Management Specialist

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Software Asset Management (SAM) is a business practice that involves managing and optimizing the purchase, deployment, maintenance, utilization, and disposal of software applications within our company. Effective SAM helps us to reduce costs, minimize legal and security risks, and improve IT efficiency by ensuring that all software assets are properly licensed, configured and up to date. By running SAM, we can gain visibility of our software inventory, streamline software procurement and deployment, and make informed decisions about software investments to support the overall business strategy.

The IT Software Asset Management Specialist will be a member of the IT Service Management team.

Professional and Technical

• Strong understanding of software license models and software contracts
• Profound know‑how of IT infrastructures and audit requirements
• Proficiency in Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, and SQL for developing or customizing reporting/automation solutions.
• Familiarity with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, or Shell scripting) is an advantage.
• Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD, and RESTful API integrations is beneficial.
• Generate and analyse software inventory, usage and compliance reports as well as cost saving opportunities
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
• The following educations are an advantage: ITIL Foundation Certificate, Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM), Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM) or ISO/IEC 19770 (SAM standards)
