Role Overview
The IT Project Manager will lead end-to-end implementation and standardization of AML transaction filtering systems across multiple APAC offices. The role involves managing regional stakeholders, vendors, governance, and delivery of AML system implementation and migration projects within a banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end implementation of AML transaction filtering systems across APAC regions
- Establish and oversee project governance, PMO activities, progress tracking, risk and issue management
- Coordinate with regional IT, Compliance, Operations, Planning teams, APAC offices, Head Office, and external vendors
- Analyze current As-Is processes and define To-Be business and system requirements
- Prepare, review, and maintain BRDs, functional specifications, project plans, and status reports
- Manage user-related activities including requirement clarification, stakeholder communication, and vendor coordination
- Plan and support cutover activities, data migration, and UAT execution across multiple countries
- Provide direction and oversight to vendors throughout the project lifecycle
- Support standardization of AML filtering processes for both SWIFT and non-SWIFT transactions
- Support projects involving Firco AML products when applicable
- Collaborate effectively with remote, cross-country, and cross-functional teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
- Minimum 8 years of IT project management experience, preferably within a financial institution
- Strong experience in AML transaction filtering systems and compliance-driven projects
- Proven experience managing regional or global system implementation/migration projects
- Solid understanding of project governance, PMO frameworks, documentation, and reporting standards
- Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills in complex, multi-party environments
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills using PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to work effectively with remote and multi-country teams
- Experience with AML platforms such as Firco, including UAT, cutover, and data migration, is an advantage
- Experience coordinating with Japan-based teams and managing SLAs is a plus
