Overview
The IT Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of IT projects within the organization. This includes planning, executing, and closing projects while ensuring that all project deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of stakeholders. The IT Project Manager will be expected to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage the communication between all stakeholders involved in the project.
Responsibilities
- Identify project risks and develop risk management plans to mitigate potential issues.
- Create project plans, schedules, and timelines, and monitor progress against them.
- Plan, execute and manage IT projects, including scope, budget, resources, timelines, and deliverables.
- Manage the project budget and track project expenses, ensuring that costs are within budget constraints.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and collaboration on project deliverables.
- Control the project deliverables and ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Facilitate project communication meetings, including status updates, team meetings, and stakeholder meetings.
- Communicate project status updates to stakeholders and senior management.
- Manage project-related vendor relationships, including contract negotiations and ongoing management.
- Monitor progress against project plans, schedules and timelines.
- Identify opportunities to improve project processes and make recommendations for process improvements.
- Ensure project documentation is complete, up-to-date, structured, and readily accessible to all stakeholders.
- Provide effective leadership to the project team, and take appropriate action where team performance deviates from agreed tolerances.
- Ensure projects are formally closed and handed over to line organization and operations. Provide project reviews, lessons-learned reports and archiving of project information. Requesting approval of project closure.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 2-5 years’ experience managing IT projects.
- Project Management Professional or similar certification preferred.
- Good understanding of the different project methodologies and frameworks.
- Possess excellent written, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership skills and experience in managing vendor relationships and contract negotiation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets and resources effectively.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, and Jira.
