About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented IT Operations Engineer to join our IT Operations Team in a top-tier pharmaceutical company. This role supports the reliable operation of IT systems that enable critical business, research, and manufacturing functions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to manage projects, coordinate tasks, and ensure timely delivery of IT initiatives. Fresh graduates with strong technical aptitude and learning mindset are welcome.
Key Responsibilities
1. IT Operations & System Support
- Monitor, maintain, and support enterprise IT infrastructure, servers, networks, cloud resources, and applications used across R&D, manufacturing, and corporate functions.
- Perform routine operational tasks such as system checks, patching, backups, and documentation updates.
- Provide Level 1–2 technical support, escalating issues to specialized teams or vendors as needed.
2. Project Management & Coordination
- Coordinate IT operations projects, ensuring tasks are executed according to timelines, quality requirements, and compliance standards.
- Track project progress, prepare status reports, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Assist with project planning activities, including scheduling, resource coordination, and risk identification.
- Work closely with global and regional teams to implement new systems, enhancements, and process improvements.
3. Incident & Problem Management
- Respond to incidents affecting system performance or business operations.
- Support root cause analysis and follow-up actions to prevent recurrence.
- Document incident resolutions and operational best practices.
4. Compliance, Quality & Documentation
- Support IT security initiatives, including access management, endpoint protection, and vulnerability remediation.
- Ensure all operational activities adhere to pharmaceutical industry standards, IT governance, and relevant GxP requirements where applicable.
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation including SOPs, runbooks, and audit records.
- Support internal and external audits related to IT systems and processes.
5. Continuous Improvement
- Participate in initiatives to enhance IT service reliability, efficiency, and user experience.
- Recommend and support automation solutions to streamline daily operations.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in IT operations, system administration, or related roles.
- Strong communication, coordination, and time-management skills.
- Interest in project management disciplines and working with diverse stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, operating systems, or cloud technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
- Fresh graduates are welcome; training will be provided.
Preferred
- Hands-on experience with Linux/Windows server management.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (VLAN, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls).
- Experience with virtualization or cloud platforms (VMware, AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Internship or project experience in IT support, system administration, or project coordination.
- Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM processes.
- Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Shell)
- Experience in regulated industries (pharma, healthcare, biotech) is a plus but not required.
