Job summary

A leading shipping company in Singapore is seeking a technical support specialist to provide day-to-day IT assistance and manage ERP administration. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of IT experience in the shipping industry, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to work collaboratively. This role is crucial for ensuring technical operations run smoothly and supporting on-site deployments.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide level 1-2 technical support for day-to-day operations.

Job description

T - Vessel, Application, Operation Supports

Operation
  • Provide level 1-2 technical support for day-to-day, inclusive application supports.
  • Coordination & Liaising with external vendors.
  • Identify, track and solve application problems raised via dedicated incident management tool.
  • Progressive maintain and built knowledge base documentation for technical troubleshooting and best practices.
  • Handles hardware and software inventory.
  • Any other IT support and projects.
Application
  • ERPs administration.
  • Ensure data (i.e. spares, jobs, class, inventory, location are accurately built, mapped and maintained in the PMS.
  • Monitor and review job frequencies, overdue jobs and defects jobs on a routine basis.
  • Ensure that business requirements are documented.
  • Perform functional test on product and coordinate User Acceptance Test with business users
Vessel
  • Support, coordinates and on-site IT deployments to/from vessel.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle in SMS including initial setup, activities and forms creation and modification, workflow changes and resolve queries from the Marine Team.
  • Support and monitor any issues arising from the Fleet Management System (FMS) end users.
  • Provide Training for on signing crew members on ERP application modules.
Competencies and Experience
  • Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in IT support in a shipping Company would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge in ERP administration is a must and with experience would be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to collaborates, blend-ins and foster a team-oriented environment
  • Proven ability to self-drive work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Good communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Good understanding of M365 application, NAS, Windows 11 operation system and services like SMB, Windows Updates, Profiles, Folder Permission hierarchy, Event logs.
  • Understood simple scripting such as Bat, PowerShell and Networking.
