Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a Database Administrator to install, upgrade, patch, and monitor database systems in a fast-paced environment in Singapore.

You will diagnose issues, manage access, backups, and security, and support manufacturing and engineering databases with a focus on SLA compliance. The role requires strong SQL expertise, experience with SQL Server and Oracle databases, and scripting in Java, PowerShell, and Python.

Responsibilities

• Install, upgrade database systems, apply patches and implement changes.
• Diagnose and resolve database errors ensuring high availability.
• Manage database access, backups and ensure security compliance.
• Perform changes to critical databases related to manufacturing and engineering.
• Support incident, request, change, and problem management tasks.
• Ensure SLA targets for incidents and requests are met with quality work.
• Provide on-call support, including outside office hours.
• Plan, execute and validate disaster recovery exercises to ensure business continuity readiness.
• Collaborate with site customers on new database requirements and data flow requests.
• Performance tuning to ensure high performance and availability.
• Monitor database performance and analyze cases to prevent recurrence.
• Develop processes and operations procedures for database operations.
• Create and manage database reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
• Identify recurring operational challenges and implement preventive measures.
