Job Overview

We are seeking for a skilled IoT Engineer specializing in deploying and configuring IoT infrastructure, including CCTV/video surveillance, wireless networks, door access systems, IoT sensors/gateways, and monitoring dashboards. The ideal candidate will possess foundational systems administration and networking knowledge, with hands-on experience in integrating and maintaining IoT ecosystems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable IoT solutions that align with business objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. IoT System Deployment & Configuration:

• Deploy, configure, and maintain CCTV/video surveillance systems (e.g., IP cameras, NVRs), door access controls, IoT sensors (environmental/motion), and gateways.
• Set up and optimize wireless networks (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee) for IoT device connectivity.
• Integrate IoT devices with central management platforms and cloud services.

2. Dashboard & Monitoring:

• Design and configure real-time dashboards for data visualization, alerting, and system health monitoring.
• Automate data collection and reporting from IoT devices.

3. Networking & Security:

• Implement basic network configurations: VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, and IP scheming for segregated IoT environments.
• Ensure security hardening of IoT devices, gateways, and networks to prevent vulnerabilities.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues across LAN/WAN and wireless infrastructures.

4. Systems Integration:

• Support integration of IoT systems with existing IT infrastructure (e.g., Windows/Linux servers, databases).
• Collaborate with software teams for API-based device management and data pipeline setup.

5. Documentation & Compliance:

• Maintain detailed records of configurations, network topologies, and operational procedures.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., PDPA, GDPR) for IoT deployments.

Requirements:

Education:

• Diploma/Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, IT, or related field.

Experience:

1. 2+ years in IoT system deployment (CCTV, access controls, sensors) or 3+ years in IT/networking roles with IoT exposure.
2. Hands-on experience with wireless technologies (Wi-Fi 6/6E, LoRaWAN, cellular IoT) and IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP).
3. Basic systems administration (Windows/Linux CLI) and networking skills (TCP/IP, routing, VLANs).
4. Familiarity with IoT platforms (e.g., AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Siemens/Bosch suites) and dashboard tools (e.g., Grafana, Node-RED).

Technical Skills:

1. Proficiency in configuring IoT hardware (sensors, gateways, controllers) and network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
2. Scripting for automation (Python, Bash) and API integrations.
3. Understanding of cybersecurity principles for IoT/OT environments.

Certifications (Preferred):

1. CCNA/CompTIA Network+, CWNP (Wireless), or vendor certifications (e.g., Axis CCTV, Hikvision, Siemens).
2. Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure IoT Specialty) or Linux/Windows fundamentals.

Soft Skills:

1. Ability to translate business needs into technical IoT solutions.
2. Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, network, and software layers.
3. Willingness for on-call support and off-hours maintenance.
