We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Officer to oversee the accurate control, reconciliation, and safeguarding of high-value physical precious‑metals inventory. This is a control and custody role with primary responsibility for inventory integrity, audit readiness, and compliance with strict security protocols.
As a secondary and conditional function, the role will provide limited support to retail sales operations during peak periods or staff shortages. Inventory control responsibilities take absolute priority at all times.
Key Responsibilities — Inventory Control (Primary)
- Maintain full accountability for physical inventory accuracy across retail and operational stock.
- Execute, record, and reconcile all inventory movements, including inbound receipts, outbound sales, transfers, and adjustments.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly stock reconciliations against system records and physical counts.
- Ensure strict compliance with segregation, labelling, serial‑number tracking, and internal security protocols.
- Investigate, document, and immediately elevate any inventory discrepancies or irregularities.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and audit‑ready inventory documentation.
- Coordinate closely with retail, vaulting, and operations teams to ensure controlled stock movements.
- Support internal and external audits, including physical stock counts and reconciliation reviews.
Secondary Responsibilities — Retail Sales Support (As Needed)
- Assist the retail sales team during peak periods, staff shortages, or high client traffic.
- Support client transactions under supervision, including preparation of invoices and transaction documentation.
- Provide basic product and pricing information to walk‑in clients when required.
- Ensure that all retail support activities fully comply with inventory control, segregation, and security standards.
Requirements
- Diploma or higher qualification in logistics, supply chain, inventory management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in inventory control, stock reconciliation, or operations in a high‑value or regulated environment.
- Strong numerical accuracy and exceptional attention to detail.
- High level of integrity and accountability when handling valuable assets.
- Ability to work in a security‑sensitive and compliance‑driven environment.
- Ability to remain composed and precise under operational pressure.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in precious metals, jewellery, vaulting, banking, logistics, or retail environments.
- Exposure to audits, stock counts, or compliance reviews.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or ERP platforms.
