Job summary

HL Bank Singapore invites interns to join our Legal Operations internship. You will help build a Master Repository of Regulations and Legislation, audit and migrate files to Google Drive, and establish a Court Orders Master Repository ensuring timely dissemination to Account Services and Collections.

You will gain hands-on exposure to data governance, enterprise data migration, and executive-level reporting, while collaborating across corporate governance teams.

  • Master Repository of Regulations and Legislation: Research, map, and centralize all applicable local and international regulations and legislations into a single, structured Master Repository.
  • Google Drive Migration: Audit, clean, and transfer all legacy compliance and legal shared folders into a secure, intuitive Google Drive folder structure.
  • Court Orders (e.g. Bankruptcy, Probate & Injunctions) Master Repository: Establish a structured, secure database to log all incoming court orders, ensuring 100% timely dissemination to downstream teams and maintaining an airtight, auditable trail for compliance verification. This includes managing the end-to-end process of scanning and swiftly disseminating of court orders (such as bankruptcy, probate and injunction orders) to downstream teams (Account Services and/or Collections).
Key Responsibilities

Experience and/or skills that you may gain from the internship:
  • Hands-On Legal Operations
  • Statutory Court Order Management: By managing bankruptcy and probate orders, they will learn the critical legal risks associated with corporate account services and collections, understanding how court mandates impact daily operations.
  • Audit & Exam Readiness: Participating in data retrieval for RCSA (Risk & Control Self-Assessment) and Quality Assurance will teach them how financial institutions prepare for internal and external audits.
  • Information Architecture & Data Governance
  • Enterprise Data Migration: Executing the transfer of legacy legal files to Google Drive will give them real-world experience in cloud data migration, access control management, and digital transformation.
  • Database Design & Maintenance: Building the master repositories and reporting trackers will teach them how to structure raw data logically, turning messy legal documents into clean, searchable, and actionable databases.
  • Data Security & Discretion: Handling sensitive bankruptcy, probate, and legal data will instill best practices for data privacy, confidentiality, and information security.
  • Corporate Governance & Stakeholder Management
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Disseminating court orders to Account Services and Collections will develop their professional communication skills and teach them how compliance acts as a backbone for other business units.
  • Executive-Level Reporting: Assisting with data collation for the governance committee will give them insight into how executive leadership reviews corporate risk and makes strategic decisions.
