Job summary

Marina Bay Sands is seeking a proactive junior business analyst to analyse and document business processes, support test activities, and track requirements throughout the software development lifecycle. The role focuses on collaborating with IT and business stakeholders to identify improvements and deliver value.

You will assist in eliciting, documenting, and validating requirements, supporting UAT, and ensuring traceability while communicating impact to the project team.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related discipline.
  • Prior internship, academic project, or hands-on exposure in IT, business analysis, systems implementation, data analysis, or process improvement is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse and document business processes and requirements across IT initiatives.
  • Review test plans/cases and track acceptance testing with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate testing activities and report defects and metrics.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering with IT and business stakeholders (e.g., marketing, FOH/BOH).
  • Ensure traceability of requirements through the project lifecycle and communicate changes to the PM.

Analyse and document business processes, review and validate test plans/cases, support user acceptance testing, and track/manage requirements traceability throughout the software development lifecycle; Foster positive relationships with our business stakeholders as their primary point of contact, and address customer issues with speed and efficiency; Facilitating requirements gathering workshops and discussions with IT and various business stakeholders (including marketing, front of house and back of house); Identify and analyse the business problems and the impact of the proposed solution on the operations of the organization and all business and project stakeholders; Work with business stakeholders to identify and make business process improvements that result in cost savings, higher quality, increased efficiencies, lower risk, and shorter cycle times, and communicate effectively on any business implication; Work closely with the Solution Architecture/technical team to ensure the solution covers all key use cases and that the system is extensible for future needs; Prepare and/or review clear and comprehensive business requirement documentation including objectives, scope, current and new business processes, added value and benefit expectations; Review, analyse, and/or create detailed documentation of business systems and user needs e.g. Functional Specifications Document, user guides; Facilitate cost and effort estimation sessions with developers and third-party solution providers; Support Procurement and Legal activities e.g. contracting, RFP; Track and manage requirements traceability through the project lifecycle and elevate changes to the Project Manager on all factors influencing scope, schedule and cost; Deliver on assigned project tasks within time, cost, and quality constraints; Coordinating testing activities with both internal and external stakeholders; Perform testing of software to ensure it is free of defects and meet business needs; Defects Reporting; and Test Metrics Reporting.

Education & Certification Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related discipline

Experience Prior internship, academic project, or hands-on exposure in IT, business analysis, systems implementation, data analysis, or process improvement will be advantageous

Other Prerequisites Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Microsoft SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Basic understanding of software development lifecycle concepts, including Waterfall and/or Agile methodologies, will be beneficial Interest in business process mapping, requirements gathering, documentation, testing, and data analysis Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to explain information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences Self-motivated, eager to learn, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment Demonstrates problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and willingness to follow established project, testing, and documentation practices.
