Job summary

GenScript Biotech Corp. is seeking a biology technician to synthesize target genes and perform molecular biology workflows. You will execute procedures from PCR to plasmid construction, analyze results, and ensure adherence to safety and SOPs. Collaboration with the team and timely issue resolution are essential for daily operations.

The role requires a degree in biological sciences or related fields, with strong experimental skills and the ability to work 8-hour shifts, 5 days a week.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Molecular Biology and Cell Biology.
• Familiar with genetic engineering techniques (PCR, plasmid design, sequencing).
• Team player with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize the targeted gene per customer requirements.
• Perform PCR, Ligation, Transformation, bacterial inspection, plasmid construction, quality inspection.
• Record data, evaluate results and maintain data integrity.
• Ensure compliance with safety and SOPs; operate gene synthesis and related steps.
• Report production issues and work with the team to resolve them.
• Handover daily experiments and summarize unfinished work.
• Complete other tasks assigned by supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• According to the department's rules and procedures, synthesize the targeted Gene required by the customer
• To perform a series of experimental procedures such as PCR, Ligation Transformation, Bacterial Inspection, Plasmid Construction, Quality Inspection and etc.
• Perform data record analysis, result evaluation and etc.
• Ensure that safety production management regulations and product production SOP requirements are followed strictly. Operate experiments independently which include: Gene Synthesis, Vector Construction, Gene Mutation, Plasmid Extraction, Sequence Analysis, Sequencing, PCR & qPCR, Reagent Preparation, Quality Inspection and etc.
• Problem identified in production process should be reported in a timely manner and actively solve the issues with team
• Make sure the handover of the experiment on the day properly and do simply analysis of the problem is made of the unfinished experiment
• To complete other tasks assigned by superior

Key Requirements

• Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences / Life Sciences / Bioengineering / Chemistry or related courses
• Solid foundation in Molecular Biology and Cell Biology; strong background in experimental operation; familiar with Conventional techniques of genetic engineering, such as Isolation and Manipulation of DNA (i.e: Primer Design, Plasmid Design, PCR, Restriction Digestion, Homologous Recombination, CRISPR/Cas9 Gene Editing, Transformation, Plasmid Isolation, Sequence Analysis and etc.) is preferred
• Strong sense of achievement; resilient and able to perform under the pressure
• Team player with good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Available to work 8-hour shifts, 5 days a week, with 2 rest days that may not always fall on weekends
