Sanofi Manufacturing and Supply (M&S) Modulus Singapore is seeking an Intern Biotechnologist, Manufacturing to join the on-site team at the Tuas facility. You will contribute to GMP operations and support commissioning, qualification activities, and tech transfer across Upstream, Downstream and Central Manufacturing Services.

The role emphasizes hands-on experience with digital systems (MES/ERP) and regulatory readiness, in a fast-paced biomanufacturing environment with potential shift

About the Job

Sanofi Manufacturing and Supply (M&S) Organization is preparing its future through an ambitious program named Modulus Facility. The facility is at the cornerstone of Sanofi strategy as it aims at creating a new manufacturing concept consisting of a new generation of evolutive multi-product facilities, modular, adaptable, and agile, leveraging new disruptive technologies, to better address vaccine business challenges as well as Specialty Care Biologics products. One of these two Modulus Facilities is constructed in Singapore at a new Greenfield site, with a design identical to the one in Neuville (France). The facilities will also have highly digitalized and automated capabilities which is a key enabler for operations using technologies such as autonomous guided vehicles, cobots and cloud systems. We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals for the role of Intern Biotechnologist, Manufacturing. As a member of our pioneer manufacturing operations team, you will be directly involved in Engineering and Product Validation Runs in a state-of-the-art biomanufacturing facility. This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute to core GMP operations while developing valuable technical and operational experience in biologics manufacturing. The candidate will have a routine operational role consisting of the following Perform and support commissioning and qualification activities of equipment and digital systems (e.g., automation, MES, ERP, PCS). Execute routine GMP manufacturing operations in compliance with established Process, Quality, and Safety standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of manufacturing areas via standard housekeeping procedures. Assist in regulatory readiness activities, including documentation and audit support. Use key digital tools and automation platforms to perform manufacturing tasks and record operations. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and increase operational efficiency. Sanofi MODULUS Singapore is hiring for Intern Biotechnologist, Manufacturing for the following teams Upstream Manufacturing Process Downstream Manufacturing Process Central Manufacturing Services (Media & Buffer, Logistics) This role is based at our Modulus facility in Tuas, Singapore, requiring full-time presence on-site. The nature of manufacturing operations and the importance of face-to-face collaboration with various stakeholders necessitates working from our facility to ensure optimal team performance and operational excellence. While we prioritize on-site work to maximize collaboration, we understand the need for flexibility. Ad hoc work-from-home arrangements can be discussed and may be approved based on individual circumstances and business needs. Typical work hours for this role are from 7.45am to 4.45pm, Monday to Friday. Company transport is provided at dedicated MRT stations to enable you to commute to and from work safely.

About You Knowledge, Skills & Competencies / Language

Proficient in technical writing, with a clear and structured approach to documenting processes and findings. Qualifications / Requirement
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma / Degree in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in biologics manufacturing and GMP operations.
  • Good understanding of laboratory safety and basic biotech processes.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with digital manufacturing systems (e.g MES, ERP) is a plus.
  • Open to shift work if required.
Other requirements of the job
  • Intern Biotechnologists will be required to work either: A 12-hour rotating shift pattern, consisting of day and night shifts, including weekends, once the facility is fully operational Or Permanent Day Shift based on operational needs and team assignments.
  • Note: Shift allocation will be communicated prior to the start of the internship.
