Inside Sales and Contract Sales Engineer

We are seeking a talented Inside Sales and Contracts Engineer to join our team in Singapore. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales growth by leveraging your technical expertise and sales skills to identify opportunities, negotiate contracts, and provide exceptional customer service.

Work alongside the External Sales team to build relationships with customers by efficiently turnaround of requests for technical quotations and conversion to orders. The role will require you to produce timely quotations with supporting documentation and drawings for a range of standard and customized solutions to meet the customer's specifications. You will then be required to discuss this with the customer and drive receipt of a purchase order. Once received, you will be responsible for processing the order on the MRP system and progress any enquiries against it, keeping the customer informed of any changes to time scales throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities and Outcomes
  • To provide exceptional levels of Customer Service
  • To respond swiftly and accurately to all customer queries within pre-agreed timescales
  • Produce Sales Quotations, Pre-qualification documents, Technical Proposals and any other form of information required by the customer / potential customer
  • Responsible for delivering high levels of customer satisfaction at all times
  • Ensure quotations are recorded accurately and in a timely fashion, to maintain departmental KPI’s
  • Ensure accuracy of quotations, technical documentation, customer Purchase Orders and any other related documentation prior to issue to Contracts for booking in
  • Progress/chase outstanding quotations within pre-agreed timescales and report accordingly
  • To maximise the potential of key accounts and new business with existing and new customers
  • Use existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems
  • Work under supervision and direction from the Customer Service Manager
  • Organise the provision of diagrams, drawings and plans as required by the conditions of the order.
  • Accept and review the factory Order Confirmation, ensuring the accuracy of all data contained within it.
  • Review sales order promise dates and adjust were necessary based on the latest information from purchasing, never allowing orders to go late.
  • Communicate with factory points of contact on orders with delivery issues and escalating orders where appropriate to the Operations Manager for further follow-up.
  • Carry out the purchasing function of the day‑to‑day tasks.
  • Expedite suppliers on a regular (weekly) basis to ensure on time delivery of purchased items and run delivery performance reports as part of supplier performance evaluation
  • Organise the provision of technical schematics, drawings and administrative response to Project Contracts and Sales Orders as required by the conditions of the job.

Personal Specification
  • Strong Customer Service experience - typically 3 years’ experience in relevant role involving basic concepts and procedures
  • Good communication skills, customer focused, strong multitasker and good at executing tasks
  • High level of data input accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and part of a wider team
  • Exhibit tact and strong diplomatic skills when dealing with all staff, customers and suppliers.
  • Sound time management and planning skills.
  • Well-developed self-motivation, independence and self-reliance.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the use of Microsoft Office and the ability to use proprietary software systems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and succinctly in English at all levels both written and oral.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of international business and logistics practices.
  • Experience in a contractual environment and understanding of the implications of contract law.
  • Good technical, mechanical and electrical knowledge.
  • Knowledge of C.A.D. and/or Solid Edge/other packages preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in using ERP Systems
