Job description

Being part of the preschool team, you will nurture children of diverse backgrounds and needs through supporting and assisting main class teachers in providing integrated and differentiated learning experiences. You will be part of the classroom team that engages and partners parents and various community partners to extend children’s learning beyond the classroom. You will also grow reflectively and professionally as an educator through in-house and external trainings, workshops and conferences.

Critical Work Functions and Key Tasks
  • Attuned and responsive to the needs of babies and infants between 2 and 18 months of age.
  • Set up and maintain a safe, hygienic, nurturing and quality environment to provide the best possible care to children under their charge, and to support their learning and growth.
  • Provide routine care for the infants from 2 months old to 18 months old
  • Take care of the daily routines of the babies and infants mainly focusing on feeding, showering, and changing of diaper, soiled/wet clothes, etc.
  • Be meticulous in recording daily routines (e.g. milk intake, next feed timings, bowel movements, etc.)
  • Plan and implement curriculum and programmes that are appropriate for the child’s development, including identifying emerging trends to keep innovating. This includes developing initiatives, practices and learning materials to enhance quality of learning environment
  • Monitor infant development by observing and documenting infant’s progress, including their physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development.
  • Alert, attentive and responsive, always having a bird’s eye view of children under their charge
  • Participate during team meetings with Preschool Teachers, Allied Health Professionals and EI Educators
Education and Experience
  • Obtained at least an Advanced Certificate in Early Years (ACEY) or Higher Certificate in Infant Care (HCIC), or its equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Infant Care teacher.
  • Candidates completing Early Childhood Education related course within 6 months may apply.
