Job summary

Mediacorp TV Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a Costume Designer to craft original outfits for TV productions, photo shoots and events. You will select stock wardrobe items, modify outfits, and ensure styling aligns with current fashion and hair/makeup trends.

Required is a Diploma in creative/visual communication or costume design and at least 2 years in TV or related media. You will collaborate across teams, attend meetings and help manage budgets and deadlines while upholding SOPs.

Qualifications

• Diploma in creative, visual communication or costume design.
• At least 2 years' experience in TV production or publishing environment.
• Strong visual and aesthetic sense with good communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently or in a team.
• Knowledge of diverse cultures to support various production types.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Purpose of the role

Design costumes and style artistes/presenters for TV productions, as well as for Photo shoots and Events. TV productions include Drama, Variety, News and Current Affairs for all Mediacorp channels.

Key Responsibilities

Design and creative work:

• Create original costumes
• Purchase and modify ready-made outfits
• Select appropriate stock costumes from our wardrobe warehouse
• Knowledge of current fashion trends
• Knowledge of hair and makeup trends and styles to be able to propose a complete image styling for programmes, casts and artistes

Project management:

• Attend production meetings, do presentations
• Liaise with contractors for costumes production
• Secure sponsors for shows and productions
• Manage budget and deadlines
• Adhere to workplace SOPs

QUALIFICATIONS

• Creative, strong in visual and aesthetic sense, good communication skills
• Diploma in creative, visual comm, costume design, are preferred
• At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably with similar working experience in TV production / Publishing environment
• Strong understanding of diverse cultures to support various production types
• Able to multi-task and work independently as well as part of a team
