Job summary

GrabTaxi Holdings Pte. Ltd. in Singapore is seeking an illustrator to help steer production illustrations for Grab products. You will ensure on-brand, production-ready assets and manage the path from designer briefs to approved art.

Hands-on illustration remains part of the role, with most leverage in reviewing generated work, handling automation gaps, and scaling illustration creation. You will report to the Head of Design, Design Tech and work onsite at One North.

Qualifications

• Strong production illustration portfolio demonstrating composition and style system.
• Experience shipping illustrations for digital products with multiple asset types.
• Ability to assess brand fit, character, and craft and explain judgments clearly.
• Experience with AI-assisted image generation in a production workflow.

Responsibilities

• Create and refine production illustrations for Grab products, across main asset types.
• Define and maintain illustration standards to keep generated and hand-made work in the same visual language.
• Own the end-to-end illustration production workflow: request, generation, review, and delivery into production asset library.
• Review generated assets against illustration standards and give clear, actionable feedback.
• Take over work that cannot be completed automatically and return a production-ready asset.
• Use production results to improve generation and review guidance for scalable quality.
• Partner with product designers to request, review, and ship illustration as part of design work.

The Illustration Team in Design owns Grab's illustration quality, visual asset systems, and how those assets get into product.

Get to Know the Role

This role has changed. AI now generates a large share of production illustration. The illustrator's job is to keep that work on-brand and production-ready, and to own the path from a designer's request to an approved asset. Hands-on illustration remains part of the role. Most of the leverage is in reviewing generated work, handling the cases automation cannot finish, and improving how illustration is created at scale.

You will report to the Head of Design, Design Tech and be based onsite at our One North office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Create and refine production illustrations for Grab products, across the main asset types used in the company.
• Define and maintain illustration standards so generated and hand-made work stay in the same visual language.
• Own the end-to-end illustration production workflow: request, generation, review, and delivery into the production asset library.
• Review generated assets against illustration standards and give clear, actionable feedback.
• Take over work that cannot be completed automatically and return a production-ready asset.
• Use production results to improve generation and review guidance, so quality rises over time rather than being re-solved case by case.
• Partner with product designers so they can request, review, and ship illustration as part of their normal design work.

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• A strong portfolio of production illustration: composition, visual storytelling, and a consistent style system.
• Experience shipping illustration for digital products, including multiple asset types and production constraints.
• Ability to judge brand fit, character, and craft, and to explain those judgments clearly.
• Comfort working with AI-assisted image generation as part of a production process, not only as an experiment.
• Experience collaborating with product designers and turning briefs into production-ready assets.
