With the recent introduction of IFRS 17 accounting standards, EY is looking for individuals who can drive solutions across the client’s data, systems and process landscape to review and advise on refining user requirements, support the architecting of functional designs and solutions for IFRS 17 project deliverables, and advise technical developer teams on refining their designs.

Your Key Responsibilities

• As markets rapidly change and develop, finance functions must demonstrate real added value to their business.
• As the Solution Consultant, you’ll use your experience and knowledge to help deliver greater insight – delivering functional efficiencies and transforming the role of finance in our clients’ businesses.
• Support the development of innovative, sustainable solutions to meet business objectives across processes and systems, and collaborate with other finance professionals in high-performing teams.
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to bring complex solutions to life; from ideation to visual design, and guiding clients and teams through the concept-to-delivery journey.
• Perform the following: review and provide feedback on client business requirements for clarity; drive the formulation and solutioning of functional designs to support IFRS 17 solutions with coordination across actuarial, finance and IT teams; participate in solutioning discussions to support client decisions; identify risks and issues during systems implementation and communicate to the solutions lead; manage stakeholders to ensure necessary information reaches decision-makers.

Skills and Attributes for Success

• Understanding of the Insurance (Life or Non-Life) and Reinsurance industry and/or robust experience with IFRS 17 implementation projects
• Experience designing or working with database solutions at a functional level (relational databases with structured data)
• Experience with databases and ETL tools (e.g., SQL, Python, SSIS, AWS Glue)
• Strong communications skills and ability to translate verbal ideas into written documents
• Ability to leverage technology to continually learn and improve service delivery
• Strong presentation skills and proficiency in PowerPoint, Word and Excel
• Ability to guide junior team members through leadership, coaching and mentoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master Degree with a minimum of 3 years’ working experience
• Good business acumen within the financial services sector, with experience in the following areas
  • Hands-on design and implementation with the ability to drive workshops
  • Experience in a Solutions or Business Analyst role within the insurance industry, with basic knowledge in finance reporting and actuarial valuation processes
• Proven capabilities in delivering finance transformation projects; related IFRS 17 programs are a plus
• Ability to establish personal credibility quickly and deliver high-quality deliverables

Ideal Experience

• Experience in a consulting role in a leading firm or within a solutions/business analyst team in a financial services firm for at least 2 years
• Experience working in ASEAN
• Strong stakeholder management with ability to translate strategic direction into cohesive change management plans
