Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Architecture:
- Develop and maintain the strategic roadmap for our hybrid infrastructure, aligning with business objectives and future growth.
- Design robust, scalable, secure, and cost-effective infrastructure solutions across on-premises and cloud platforms.
- Lead the architectural design and implementation of complex projects, including data centre modernization, cloud migrations, and hybrid cloud integration.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends (e.g., AI/ML infrastructure, edge computing, serverless architectures, AI Agentic Agents, Model Context Protocol).
- Define and enforce infrastructure standards, best practices, and governance policies to ensure consistency, security, and compliance.
- On-Premise Infrastructure Expertise:
- Architect and optimize on-premises compute (virtualization – VMware, Hyper‑V, Nutanix), storage (SAN, NAS, object storage), and networking solutions.
- Oversee the design and implementation of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other core on‑premises services.
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity for critical on‑premises systems.
- Strong understanding of traditional data centre operations, including power, cooling, and physical security.
- Cloud Solutions & Integration:
- Design and implement cloud‑native and hybrid cloud solutions leveraging IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models on major public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Develop and implement cloud migration strategies (Lift‑and‑Shift, Re‑platforming, Re‑architecting) modernization for various applications and workloads.
- Expertise in designing cloud networking (VPCs, VPNs, ExpressRoute/Direct Connect, load balancers, firewalls) and security configurations.
- Architect solutions for identity and access management (IAM) across hybrid environments.
- Proficiency with knowledge in containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) for hybrid deployments.
- Automation & Operations:
- Drive infrastructure automation initiatives using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Knowledge of CI/CD DevSecOps pipelines for infrastructure, security deployments and configuration management.
- Design and implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for hybrid environments.
- Optimize system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure business continuity across hybrid infrastructure.
- Security & Compliance:
- Implement and enforce robust security controls and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR) across all infrastructure components.
- Perform planning with knowledge of security assessments, vulnerability management, and incident response planning.
- Design secure network architectures, including segmentation and firewall rules.
- Collaboration & Leadership:
- Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams, including application development, cybersecurity, network engineering, and business stakeholders.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to infrastructure engineers and other team members.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Manage vendor relationships and evaluate third‑party technologies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years in an architectural role focusing on hybrid solutions.
- Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and managing large‑scale on‑premises/cloud (hybrid) infrastructure.
- Extensive hands‑on experience with at least one major public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and domain knowledge of VMWare/Nutanix stack.
- Proven track record of successfully leading cloud migration projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Cloud Platforms: Deep expertise in AWS (VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, EKS, IAM), Azure (VNet, VMs, Storage Accounts, Azure SQL, AKS, Azure AD), and/or Google Cloud Platform (VPC, Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, GKE, IAM).
- Virtualization: VMware ESXi, vCenter, vRealize Suite and/or Microsoft Hyper‑V and/or Nutanix HCI
- Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, load balancing, firewalls, network segmentation. SD‑WAN knowledge is a plus.
- Storage: SAN, NAS, object storage solutions (e.g., NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage, AWS S3, Azure Blob, GCS).
- Operating Systems: Linux (various distributions), Windows Server.
- Automation & IaC: Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, Bash scripting.
- Containers & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.
- Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Google Cloud Monitoring.
- Databases: General understanding of relational and NoSQL databases.
- Security: Cloud security best practices, identity and access management (IAM), data encryption, network security.
- Soft Skills:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences.
