Job summary

RAPID OFFSHORE INTEGRATED ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a Workshop Engineer to service and overhaul marine refrigeration and air-conditioning systems aboard merchant ships, oil rigs and offshore vessels.

You will interpret electrical drawings, troubleshoot faults, assist in quotations for spare parts, and supervise junior engineers while ensuring safety standards and accurate field service reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience with marine refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and troubleshoot with minimal guidance.
• Experience in field service reporting and client communication.

Responsibilities

• Install and overhaul refrigeration units on merchant ships, oil rigs and offshore vessels.
• Perform MRO services, including troubleshooting and major OEM propulsion equipment.
• Commission new gearbox involving yard, basin, and sea trials.
• Prepare field service reports with photos for client records.
• Assist in parts quotations to procure spares for repairs and overhauls.
• Conduct daily toolbox meetings and ensure safety practices are followed.
• Supervise/junior engineers where necessary.
• Perform other workshop tasks as required.

Job description

• Specialize in the Marine refrigeration and air-conditioning field - Installing and overhauling refrigeration units in merchant ships, oil rigs, and other offshore vessels.
• MRO services, including planning, troubleshooting, diagnosing, minor repair, and a complete overhaul of major OEM marine propulsion equipment
• Includes commissioning of new gearbox involving yard, basin, and sea trials
• Prepare field service report with appropriate photos of before and after repair for the final report to the client
• Able to interpret electrical drawings and perform basic troubleshooting of faults on an electrical system with minimum guidance
• Assist Workshop Manager in preparing parts quotation for Purchaser to procure spares to conduct repair and/or overhaul.
• Conduct daily Tool Box meetings and ensure compliance with workplace safety and health practices
• Supervise/junior coach engineers, where necessary.
• Perform other jobs as required by the Workshop from time to time.
