Space Executive is seeking a HVAC Design Lead based in Singapore to drive end-to-end cooling design for hyperscale AI and cloud workloads. You will own the process from heat rejection plant to rack-level cooling, focusing on reliability, sustainability, and rapid delivery.

The role requires 15+ years in data centre design, 5+ years at principal engineer/MEP Manager level, and hands-on experience with multiple cooling technologies.

Formación

• 15+ years in data centre detail design.
• 5+ years at principal engineer or MEP Manager level.
• ACMV with practising certificate preferred.
• Hands‑on experience across cooling methodologies.
• Experience in Chiller Plant Operation Systems, sequence of operation, and PLC flow charts.
• Experience in energy modelling for Green Mark Data Centre.
• Familiar with CFD modelling, hydraulic calculations, and thermal simulation.
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Open to regional travel based on project requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Author system topology and detailed schematics for air- and liquid-cooling applications from heat rejection plant to rack level.
• Design to meet control philosophy and continuous operation requirements across cooling technologies.
• Perform capacity planning to meet dynamic AI workload power.
• Right-size and select cooling equipment for peak demand, modularity and scalability.
• Implement configuration and sequence of operation for optimal PUE and WUE.
• Perform CFD modelling, hydraulic calculations, hot air re-entrainment analysis and noise studies.
• Standardise build-to-suit design templates to shorten cycles and reduce costs.
• Future-proof cooling designs for evolving AI workloads.

We’re partnering with a fast-growing data centre developer with an active pipeline across Southeast Asia to hire a HVAC Design Lead specialising in data centre cooling technologies, based in Singapore.

This is a senior technical role focused on designing, optimising, and scaling cooling infrastructure for hyperscale AI and cloud compute workloads. You’ll own the full cooling design lifecycle - from heat rejection plant through to rack-level cooling with a strong focus on reliability, sustainability, PUE and WUE efficiency, and speed to market.

What you’ll be doing

• Author system topology and detailed schematics for both air-cooling and liquid cooling applications, from heat rejection plant to rack level
• Design to meet control philosophy and continuous operation requirements across various cooling technologies
• Perform capacity planning to accommodate dynamic power demand from AI workloads, including thermal buffer and fast response design
• Right-size and select cooling technology equipment to meet peak demand, modularity, and scalability requirements
• Implement configuration and sequence of operation to achieve optimum PUE and WUE targets
• Perform CFD modelling, hydraulic calculations, hot air re-entrainment analysis, noise simulation, and prevailing wind studies
• Standardise build-to-suit design templates to achieve shorter design cycles and optimum cost targets
• Future-proof cooling design to meet evolving AI and high-density workload demands

What we’re looking for

• 15+ years in data centre detail design, with 5+ years at principal engineer or MEP Manager level
• Mechanical Professional Engineer (ACMV) with practising certificate preferred
• Hands‑on experience across cooling methodologies — direct and indirect evaporative cooling, closed circuit heat exchange, dry coolers, magnetic bearing chillers, cold plate liquid cooling, and immersion cooling
• Experience in Chiller Plant Operation Systems, sequence of operation, and PLC flow charts
• Experience in energy modelling for Green Mark Data Centre
• Familiar with CFD modelling, hydraulic calculations, and thermal simulation
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin
• Proficient in AutoCAD
• Open to regional travel based on project requirements
