Job description

Our client, a prominent player in the Chemical Manufacturing sector, is looking for an HSE Engineer to join their growing team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead critical safety and compliance initiatives & requires someone with a Workplace Safety & Health and Fire Safety Certification.

THE ROLE

As an HSE Engineer, your key responsibilities include:

  • Driving HSE Standards: Oversee and implement Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies, ensuring the organization meets all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular HSE audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify gaps and develop action plans to address them effectively.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HSE regulations, liaising with authorities and ensuring timely submission of all required permits and reports.
  • Incident Management: Act as the lead investigator for workplace incidents, analyzing root causes and driving corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Employee Training: Design and deliver safety training programs to foster a culture of safety awareness and compliance within the workforce.
QUALIFICATIONS

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3-8 years of HSE experience in a process plant or industrial environment, ideally within the manufacturing sectors.
  • Must have WSH Level C certification
  • Proven expertise in managing regulatory compliance and HSE management systems.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams and levels.
