Job summary

A safety services firm in Singapore is seeking a Workplace Safety Coordinator to enhance safety protocols and compliance within the organization. The ideal candidate should have a valid WSHC certificate and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the oil & gas sector. Responsibilities include conducting safety inspections and leading safety meetings. Immediate availability is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the oil & gas industry.
  • Certified First Aider, Work-at-Height Assessor, and Confined Space Assessor is a plus.
  • Willing to work long hours when required.

Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and WSH committee meetings.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain workplace safety and health (WSH) policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with the WSH Act and relevant regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, permits-to-work, and company safety standards.
  • Monitor and report safety performance indicators and ensure timely submission of WSH documentation and reports to management and authorities.
  • Prepare, submit, and liaise with Group HSE on all HSSE reporting matters
  • Work closely with site supervisors and project teams to promote a positive safety culture and ensure safe work practices are followed.
  • Assist in reviewing the submission of safety documents, including Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), and Permits to Work (PTW). The coordinator shall assist in ensuring that RAs are reviewed and, if necessary, revised according to Risk Management Code of Practice.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in workplace safety and health management systems.

Requirement:

  • Possess a valid Workplace Safety & Health Coordinator (WSHC) certificate
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the oil & gas industry
  • Strong knowledge of the Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Act and related regulations
  • Proven leadership and organizational skills
  • Certified First Aider, Work-at-Height (WAH) Assessor, and Confined Space Assessor (will be an added advantage)
  • Willing to work long hours when required
  • Able to commence work immediately
