Job summary

A manufacturing company in Singapore is seeking an HR Manager to oversee various human resource functions including recruitment, employee relations, training, and compliance. The ideal candidate will develop manpower plans, manage payroll and benefits, and ensure a positive workplace culture. Strong knowledge of labor laws and previous HR experience are required for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement manpower plans to support production and business needs.
  • Manage recruitment for engineers, technicians, operators, and support staff.
  • Build partnerships with technical institutes, trade schools, and recruitment agencies.
  • Ensure smooth onboarding and orientation programs.
  • Manage employee relations and maintain strong communication with unions.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, union agreements, and government regulations.
  • Handle disciplinary actions, grievances, and conflict resolution.
  • Identify training needs for skilled and unskilled workers.
  • Implement technical, safety, and soft-skill training programs.
  • Develop career progression paths and succession planning.
  • Oversee performance appraisal systems linked with rewards.
  • Work with department heads to set KPIs and monitor performance.
  • Recommend promotions, transfers, or corrective actions.
  • Develop fair wage structures aligned with industry standards.
  • Manage payroll, overtime, and shift allowance policies.
  • Oversee employee benefits such as insurance and retirement schemes.
  • Collaborate with HSE teams to ensure compliance with workplace safety.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and promote safe work practices.
  • Foster positive workplace culture and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Organize employee welfare programs and team-building activities.
  • Develop and update HR policies in line with organizational needs.

HR Policy & Administration
  • Develop and update HR policies in line with organizational needs and legal requirements.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Ensure smooth HR operations across shifts and multiple production sites.
