Responsibilities
1. Learning & Development Strategy
- Design and implement a comprehensive L&D framework aligned with organizational goals and maritime industry standards.
- Conduct learning needs analyses across departments to identify skill gaps and training priorities.
- Develop annual training plans and budgets in line with HR and business strategies.
2. Training Program Management
- Plan, organize, and evaluate training programs for both onshore and offshore employees (e.g., technical, compliance, leadership, and soft skills training).
- Coordinate with internal and external training providers, maritime academies, and professional bodies.
- Oversee e-learning platforms, blended learning solutions, and digital training initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with Maritime Labour Convention (MLC), STCW, and other maritime training regulations where applicable.
3. Talent & Leadership Development
- Design and manage talent development programs, succession planning, and career progression pathways.
- Develop leadership and management training modules for high-potential employees.
- Partner with department heads to identify and groom future leaders.
4. Performance & Capability Development
- Support the performance management process through coaching, feedback, and competency development initiatives.
- Develop and implement capability frameworks for critical roles.
5. Learning Evaluation & Metrics
- Measure the effectiveness and ROI of training initiatives through feedback, performance metrics, and business outcomes.
- Maintain accurate training records and produce regular L&D reports for management.
6. Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with HR Business Partners, line managers, and operational leaders to align training with business needs.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and industry associations on training compliance and certification.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
- At least 10 years of L&D or HR experience.
- Prior experience in the shipping, maritime, logistics or transportation industry is highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and digital learning tools.
- Excellent project management, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Certification in Learning & Development, Coaching, or Talent Management (e.g., CIPD, SHRM, IHRP) preferred.
