About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Partner and support the Research Centres' Directors / Principal Investigators / Managers to manage, in a proactive and consultative approach, a full spectrum of HR functions for Research and Contingent staff.
  • Establish a clear understanding of the recruitment needs of the Research Centres and work closely with the Centre Directors and Managers to hire suitable talents.
  • Provide professional advice on the interpretation of NUS HR policies and procedures.
  • Partner with business units to carry out manpower planning and budgeting, including Expenditure of Manpower (EOM) budget preparation and variance analysis.
  • Act as a contact point for employee relations issues, provide accurate assessment of situations and HR advice to business units.
  • Undertake other ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned, contributing to continuous improvement and operational excellence across HR functions.
Qualifications
  • A recognised Bachelor's degree, preferably with specialist qualification in Human Resource Management.
  • At least 5 years' working experience, including 3 years' experience as an HR Business Partner, preferably in higher education or research sector.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Resourceful with good organisational and planning abilities.
  • IT-savvy with strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications including MS Excel.
  • Able to work well in a team and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Meticulous, able to work well under pressure and committed to meeting tight deadlines.
