Job summary

A leading payroll solutions provider in Singapore seeks a Payroll Specialist to process payroll for 600 employees. Responsibilities include managing payroll output, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and submitting annual tax filings. Ideal candidates will have a minimum diploma in HR or Finance, strong interpersonal skills, and at least 2 years of experience in payroll management.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in payroll & benefits management.
  • Detail-oriented with experience in payroll processing for over 600 headcounts.
  • Basic understanding of tax procedures preferred.

Job description
1) JOB OVERVIEW

Primarily responsible for processing payroll, annual tax filing and preparing monthly, quarterly and year-end payroll reports. Also, ensures compliance of statutory requirements & Government regulations on matters pertaining to payroll. (600 Headcounts)

2) JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for the full spectrum of monthly payroll processing.
  • Provide payroll output (payroll postings, fund requirements, month-end reports) to Head of Human Resources.
  • Responsible for monthly submission of tax and other statutory requirements (Other government claims).
  • Handles annual tax filing submission on IR21 and IR8A.
  • Identifies, investigates, and resolves discrepancies in timesheets and payroll records.
  • Answers employees’ questions about wages and deductions.
  • Liaise closely with managers to process overtime and allowance payments.
  • Prepare payroll-related and ad-hoc reports as requested by the management.
  • Generate monthly manpower cost and analysis reports.
  • Maintain proper payroll documentations and authorisations for internal and external audit.
  • Drive payroll projects to improve current processes and enhance system.
  • File tax clearance for foreign workers and handle the payroll queries for separating employees.
  • Collaborate with Finance in any pay-related matters and projects.
3) QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum Diploma in Human Resources, Finance, or a related field
  • At least 2 years’ of relevant experience in payroll & benefits management
  • Strong work ethics, good interpersonal & communication skills
  • Work with minimal supervision, good time management and organisation skills
  • Detail-oriented, and experienced in payroll processing manually for a headcount of over 600 will be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with payroll software (Whyze) and proficiency with spreadsheets will be an advantage.
  • Well-versed with Statutory Board regulations (IRAS, CPF, MOM and Mindef) that impact benefits and other wage deductions.
  • A basic understanding of tax procedures is preferred.
