Qualifications

Our Client is a leading provider of chemical and energy solutions in Singapore and the Asia Pacific region. They have a fully integrated refinery and petrochemical manufacturing operation on Pulau Bukom, and downstream chemical assets on Jurong Island.

Role Purpose

The HR Advisor serves as a key support function within the HR team, acting as a liaison between HR Operations and Senior HR Business Partners (HRBPs). This role is ideal for aspiring talent to grow into an HRBP position, offering exposure to strategic HR initiatives while managing day-to-day advisory responsibilities. The HR Advisor ensures that routine HR matters are resolved efficiently and escalates only those requiring policy exceptions or senior-level input.

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive HR Advisor to provide guidance on HR policies, manage employee relations, and support organizational HR initiatives. This role combines operational excellence with strategic insight, requiring strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and a deep understanding of HR best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • HR Advisory & Query Management
    • Act as the first point of contact for employee and manager HR queries
    • Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and compliance matters
    • Screen and resolve routine HR questions (e.g., leave, benefits, onboarding)
    • Escalate queries only when policy exceptions or strategic decisions are required
  • HR Operations & Liaison
    • Collaborate with HR Operations to ensure seamless execution of HR processes
    • Monitor service delivery and flag operational inefficiencies
    • Maintain accurate employee records, including performance reviews and disciplinary actions
  • Employee Relations & Compliance
    • Advise on grievances, complaints, and disciplinary matters as reflected in the policies
    • Ensure consistent application of HR policies across departments
    • Identify gaps in policy understanding and recommend improvements
  • Support to Senior HRBP
    • Provide administrative and analytical support to Senior HRBPs
    • Assist in performance management cycles, salary reviews, and talent development
    • Prepare reports and dashboards on workforce trends and HR metrics
  • Training & Development
    • Facilitate onboarding and offboarding, performance management, and career development programs
    • Support employee engagement and diversity initiatives
    • Coordinate logistics and communication for HR-related programs and projects
  • Recruitment & Project Coordination
    • Discuss with Line Manager to assist in reviewing the Job Description is aligned with TAFEP guidelines and job posting is within organisational procedures
    • Support HR projects such as engagement surveys and change management efforts
Qualifications
  • Diploma or equivalent in HR, Business Administration or related field
  • 1-3 years in HR advisory or generalist roles
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication and problem solving abilities
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel and Word). Experience in HRIS systems like SuccessFactor, Workday preferred
