Job Responsibilities
The Housekeeping Linen Runner is responsible for delivering, maintaining, and organizing all linen to support the housekeeping team’s daily operations. This role ensures that housekeepers have timely access to clean linens, towels, and amenities, contributing to efficient room turnover and overall guest satisfaction.
Linen & Supply Delivery
- Transport clean linens, towels, and housekeeping supplies to assigned floors or storage closets.
- Replenish floor linen closets throughout the shift based on occupancy and room attendant needs.
- Deliver additional linen requests from room attendants or supervisors promptly.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Monitor daily stock levels of linens, towels, amenities, and cleaning supplies.
- Report shortages or damaged items to the laundry or housekeeping supervisor.
- Rotate stock to ensure older linen is used first (FIFO).
- Assist in periodic inventory counts.
Linen Handling & Organisation
- Sort, stage, and organize clean linens from the laundry department.
- Collect soiled linens from housekeeping floors and transport them to the laundry area.
- Ensure linen closets remain clean, orderly, and compliant with safety standards.
Housekeeping Support
- Assist room attendants with special delivery items such as baby cot amenities, extra blanket, mattress protector and extra pillows.
- Support Uniform Room, deep‑cleaning or project work duties as assigned by supervisors.
- Communicate any operational issues (equipment, supply shortages, or safety hazards).
Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy loads (often 30–60 lbs).
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Basic communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
- Reliability and strong attention to detail.
Work Environment
- Frequent walking, bending, standing, and physical activity.
- Work performed in guest corridors, service areas, and laundry facilities.
- Shift work may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Experience
- Previous housekeeping or hotel operations experience (not required but beneficial).
- Knowledge of basic housekeeping and linen procedures.
