Job summary

Khoo Teck Puat Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in dispensing medications for inpatients and outpatients. The role includes processing orders, labeling, packing, and distributing drug supplies while ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.

You will help maintain stock levels, assist with sterile and extemporaneous preparations, and participate in inventory control and customer service activities within the pharmacy.

Qualifications

• Assist in orientating and training new staff assigned to the section.
• Assist pharmacist in managing the operations in the assigned section.
• Foster continuous improvements as our way of life by encouraging staff efforts at improving processes to achieve clinical quality and operational excellence

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in processing medication orders for inpatient and outpatient dispensing, including typing, packing, labeling and distribution of drug supplies to wards and departments.
• Perform billing functions and ensure that cost and revenue of all stocks supplied are recovered.
• Assist in processing medication orders for sterile and extemporaneous preparations per USP guidelines.
• Perform compounding of antibiotic infusers, eye drops, syringe preparations and topical creams according to prescriptions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clean room and related equipment.
• Dispense medications under supervision of a pharmacist.
• Monitor and maintain inventory stock levels of drugs in the areas of work.
• Receive, unpack and check deliveries against documents; ensure items received are correct.
• Perform stock receipts and issues in FEFO order.
• Assist in providing quality customer service.
• Assist in planning and managing unit dose repackaging production.
• Assist in topping up medications into Automated Medication Cabinets
• Maintain work areas and prepare for daily operations
• Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
