Job summary

Security and Intelligence Division is seeking an experienced archival specialist to manage SID's archival systems and develop heritage content that preserves Singapore's history. You will oversee physical and digital archives, conduct research, and curate engaging content in collaboration with stakeholders and volunteers.

In a senior role you will lead a small team, design workflows, mentor staff, and promote best practices in archival management and public outreach to strengthen SID's

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of experience in knowledge management and archival systems.
• Experience in writing and curation for museums and exhibitions.
• Strong stakeholder, resource and project management skills.
• Keen interest in Singapore's history and heritage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the organisation's archival systems, including physical and digital archives, to ensure accurate and secure storage of historical records and artifacts
• Conduct archival research and curate content
• Work with stakeholders, partners and volunteers to identify and collect relevant materials for the purposes of archival and content creation
• Conceptualise and execute engaging exhibitions, programmes and publications
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in archival management and heritage content development to continuously improve our processes and strategies
• Provide technical and strategic leadership for a team
• Design and implement workplace processes, with future trends and needs in mind
• Plan and guide your team’s professional growth, in both general and technical areas
• Build good relations and workflows with internal and external stakeholders
• Mentor and develop junior team members to maximise their potential

Job description

You will be part of a dynamic team that plays a key role in the preservation and promotion of SID's history and culture. You will be responsible for managing SID's archival systems and developing its heritage content.

What you will be working on

• Develop and manage the organisation's archival systems, including physical and digital archives, to ensure accurate and secure storage of historical records and artifacts
• Conduct archival research and curate content
• Work with stakeholders, partners and volunteers to identify and collect relevant materials for the purposes of archival and content creation
• Conceptualise and execute engaging exhibitions, programmes and publications
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in archival management and heritage content development to continuously improve our processes and strategies
