Job summary

Newbridge Singapore is seeking a seasoned treasury leader to head the ALM and liquidity management for the Singapore Branch. You will align treasury activities with Head Office directives, internal policies, and MAS regulations while delivering robust governance and strategic insights.

As a key member of ALCO and governance committees, you will mentor the dealing team, drive revenue opportunities, and ensure accurate reporting, risk oversight and regulatory compliance across the local balance

Qualifications

• Degree in Banking & Finance, Economics, Commerce, or related field.
• Minimum 20 years in treasury/financial markets/banking with senior leadership experience.
• Deep expertise in treasury products, funding, liquidity management, ALM, and markets.
• Strong knowledge of MAS requirements and Singapore regulatory framework.
• Proven leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

Job description

Responsible for leading the overall Treasury and Asset & Liability Management (ALM) for the Singapore Branch, ensuring all activities are aligned with internal policies, Head Office directives, delegated authorities and MAS regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Branch's treasury operations, ensuring robust governance, controls and regulatory compliance.
• Act as a trusted advisor to Branch Management on treasury matters through market intelligence, financial analysis and actionable recommendations.
• Manage the Branch's liquidity and funding position, ensuring all local regulatory liquidity requirements are met and maintained.
• Lead, mentor and supervise the dealing team in monitoring liquidity, assessing global and domestic market conditions, and evaluating treasury products.
• Oversee treasury transactions - reviewing approvals, monitoring exposures against limits, and ensuring accurate and timely execution within the control framework.
• Drive treasury performance reporting and insights - preparing business reviews, market commentary and strategic proposals for the Asset and Liability Management Committee (ALCO).
• Track key market developments, elevate material risks or operational issues promptly to senior management.
• Cascade decisions and guidance from Branch Management and Board Committees to the Treasury team to ensure alignment and execution.
• Manage resource allocation, workflow and daily operations of the Treasury function for operational efficiency.
• Lead people management for the team including objective setting, performance reviews, coaching, talent development and recommending recognition or corrective actions per Bank policy.
• Lead the Branch ALM function and serve as a key member of ALCO and other governance committees including Credit, Compliance, and Risk Management.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with financial institutions, regulators, counterparties and market participants to advance the Bank's franchise.
• Contribute to business growth by identifying opportunities to improve treasury revenue, optimize balance sheet and enhance market presence.
• Undertake other related assignments as directed by Branch Management.

Requirements

• Degree in Banking & Finance, Economics, Commerce, Business or related field.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in treasury / financial markets / banking, with proven track record in a senior leadership capacity within a bank.
• In-depth expertise in treasury products, funding & liquidity management, balance sheet management (ALM) and financial markets.
• Sound knowledge of Singapore treasury regulatory framework and MAS requirements.
• Strong analytical capability, leadership presence, communication and stakeholder management, with sound judgment in decision-making.
