A leading wholesale bank is seeking an experienced banker to lead its Structured Trade Finance team in Singapore. This senior strategic role focuses on driving growth in the commodities and energy sectors across APAC, enhancing client engagement, and maximizing banking opportunities. Candidates should have over 15 years of trade finance experience along with proven business development skills and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

  • At least 15 years’ experience in trade finance, with exposure to commodities and energy sectors.
  • Proven expertise in structured and conventional trade finance products.
  • Strong understanding of credit, risk, and deal execution processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience in leading teams and training front-office colleagues.
  • Fluency in English for communications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead business development of Structured Trade Finance across APAC.
  • Develop strategies to grow receivables, payables, and trade finance flows.
  • Originate and structure bespoke trade finance solutions for clients.
  • Partner with credit and risk teams to ensure robust deal structuring.
  • Collaborate with global offices to support clients with international operations.
  • Deliver internal training to strengthen origination and cross-sell of trade finance products.
  • Drive initiatives that strengthen flow banking, including deposit mobilization.

A leading wholesale bank is seeking an experienced banker to lead its Structured Trade Finance team within the Global Trade Finance function. Based in Singapore, this role will focus on driving growth across the commodities and energy sectors in APAC, enhancing client engagement, and maximizing flow banking opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead business development of Structured Trade Finance opportunities across APAC.
  • Develop strategies to grow receivables, payables, and conventional trade finance flows while deepening client relationships.
  • Originate and structure bespoke trade finance solutions for clients, acting as lead arranger where possible.
  • Partner with credit and risk teams to ensure robust deal structuring and high credit quality.
  • Collaborate with global offices to support clients with international operations.
  • Deliver internal training to relationship managers, enabling stronger origination and cross-sell of trade finance products.
  • Drive initiatives that strengthen flow banking, including deposit mobilization and FX growth.
Requirements
  • At least 15 years’ experience in trade finance, with strong exposure to the commodities and energy sectors.
  • Proven expertise in both structured and conventional trade finance products.
  • Strong understanding of credit, risk, and deal execution processes.
  • Track record of business development and origination across APAC.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience in leading teams and training front-office colleagues.
  • Fluency in English required for internal & external communications and engagement
