Duties of the General Manager of M&E Department
- Leadership to the M&E Team, both in Head Office and on Site, in compliance with Company Policies, for the professional and dutiful execution of their respective roles.
- Corporate Targets
- Plan and deliver in association with other departments the yearly and mid term award, sales and profit targets set by Corporate Head Quarters.
- Human Resources
- Develop career trajectories and competency training of all M&E staff.
- Set KPIs and monitor performance of all M&E staff.
- Design and Tender
- Ensuring the optimal design, including specifications and drawings, to develop a common basis for the quotation of each service in each tender.
- Develop and maintain a good pool of subcontractors to support the Company in Tender and Works.
- Obtain and assess critically competitive quotations in compliance with Company governance.
- Develop Value Engineering during tender and through works execution to improve on profit margins of the project.
- Works
- Develop and monitor execution and cost control plans for projects.
- Ensure M&E works quality and timeliness within working budget.
- Develop and maintain a Corporate QA/QC plan for in-process and post completion maintenance works so as to improve on current and future project quality.
- Others
- Subcontractors and Suppliers resources pool – develop and maintain excellent relationships to ensure that the Company has adequate support from these stakeholders.
- Any other ad hoc projects and tasks assigned by Management.
Qualifications Required
General Manager, M&E Department
- Reputable Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree
- Proven capability to:
- Undertake leadership role in a M&E Consultant, Main Contractor or Specialist Company
- Develop services design in a design-and-built contract
- Call and critically assess M&E tender quotations.
- Execute effective cost control of M&E works.
- Completed full project cycles of:
- Data Centres or any M&E Internsive Facilities
- Private Residential projects
- Hospitality projects
The following criteria will be considered in the assessment of the suitability of the candidate:
- Conversant in BIM for purposes of design and estimation
- Green certification – e.g. BCA Green Mark Manager / LEED Professional
- Develop / guide staff to develop in-house clear breakdown of contract costs for in-tender assessment and post- award contract administration.
- Track record of main equipment procurement experience.
- Good industry network
