Job summary

A rapidly growing Singapore-based enterprise is seeking a Legal Head to establish and lead their Legal Department. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Law, at least 3 years of relevant experience, and a strong understanding of corporate and contract law. Familiarity with the legal environment in Southeast Asia and bilingual skills in English and Chinese are essential. This role is based in Tanjong Pagar, Singapore.

Job description

• Monday to Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
• Work Location: Tanjong Pagar (walking distance from the MRT)

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and lead the Legal Department according to the company’s business growth and strategic needs.
• Provide legal advice and support for corporate governance, M&A, commodity trading, and overseas industrial project development.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements in multiple languages, including English and Chinese, to meet business and regulatory requirements.
• Manage relationships with external legal firms and oversee domestic and cross-border legal issues.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Support management on business-related legal strategies and other assigned legal matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Law.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in corporate legal affairs or private practice.
• Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and international trade regulations; experience in M&A or engineering-related projects is an advantage.
• Familiarity with the legal environment in Southeast Asia.
