Job summary

A leading industrial gases company in Singapore is seeking a finance manager to oversee APAC reporting processes and drive strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of management experience in business partnering and a deep understanding of the industrial gases sector. Responsibilities include leading business reviews and supporting long-term financial planning. This position reports to the APAC Head of Finance.

Job description
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver APAC and global reporting processes (e.g. GBR, MBR, FLR, Flash and ABP)

- Preparation of targets to the RBUs

- Country team coordination to ensure timely and quality submissions to group

- Development of plan templates and supporting working papers

- Preparation of presentation packs for group

- Coordinate with Corporate to ensure understanding of targets and correct data

  • Lead dynamic Monthly Business Review process, upgrade formats to adapt to changing external / internal conditions with the objective of sharing risk / opps on a timely basis along with actions to mitigate net risks and accelerate OP Growth.
  • Lead and build the APAC Annual Business Plan and coordinate with the different business units all the elements relative to the plan. Provide guidance on key assumptions, share detailed activity calendar, lead reviews, along with APAC President and Head of Finance APAC.
  • Work with APAC Leadership teams to deliver monthly forecasts. Challenge the forecasts by identifying opportunities, implement actions to close gaps on a timely basis and ensure a good synchronization between operational and financial plans.
  • Support the development of the 5-year Strategic plan by coordinating robust building blocks in the following areas: Volume (Backlog + Base), Price, Productivity, Cost stack, OIE and M&A activities.
  • Build operational planning and execution capabilities with RBUs
  • Map and influence mapping and execution of transformation initiatives to accelerate growth
  • Operationalize Strategic Plan into building blocks aimed to deliver commitments
  • Benchmark to drive evolution in Financial / Operational KPIs with RBUs
  • Drive expansion of LBSC and IT SSC Services within APAC. Support business case development and insource in low-cost locations while implement digital tools.
  • Partner with APAC leadership to drive digital agenda across the segment ensuring quantifiable benefits are delivered.
  • Financial P&L Controller for APAC Helium + ESG. Lead the support for APAC Helium and ESG business and drive profitable growth initiatives along APAC / RBU leadership.
  • Build strong relationships with respective business partners to ensure a solid, trusted advisor role is maintained while challenging the business to deliver goals.
  • Role model continuous improvement mindset and champion change management initiatives to improve financial performance.
  • Ensure transparent volumes trends by end market, supply mode and support the execution of the growth platforms.
  • Work with RBUs to deliver committed pricing and productivity projects.
  • Provide visibility of Fixed Costs vs. forecast and influence delivery of targets
  • Coordinate Capital Expenses allocation and approval process. Ensure 12-24 months forward looking visibility to ensure Procurement/ Business improve sourcing costs.
  • Work with RBUs to deliver Cash Flow targets and working capital improvements.
  • Develop Finance related training material to train teams across the business
Required Qualifications or Experience:
  • Accounting degree or Finance degree with professional qualification (CPA / MBA / comparable business degree).
  • At least 10 years management experience in business partnering
  • Experience in multinational companies, publicly traded companies
  • Has experience and a deep understanding of the industrial gases and engineering companies or oil & gas sector—particularly natural gas.
