Job description

My client, a leading manufacturer of nanopositioning technology with global presence is now looking for an experienced candidate to be stationed at its Shanghai office.

Reporting to the CFO in Germany and the China based company President, the successful candidate will be responsible for all activities in the areas of finance, human resources, information technology and legal for its China based operations with offices in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen and Changzhou.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all accounting and tax activities in China as well as their compliance with corporate standards and local regulations, establishing efficient processes and controls. Responsible for preparation and execution of budgets for all administrative functions
  • Responsible for the preparation of annual budgets for all Chinese entities as well as the establishment of efficient processes to ensure timely monthly reporting to the parent company including forward‑looking analysis and identification of cost‑saving potentials
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with global standards, local labor laws and good local standards in all employee‑related matters including payroll, remuneration, recruitment, employee development and performance measurement
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with global standards in the area of data security, applications and IT‑infrastructure as well as establishing efficient processes and local support for all Chinese employees in all IT‑related matters
  • Responsible to establish efficient processes to ensure compliance with local legal regulations, managing internal and external legal resources and limiting legal exposure through the use of insurances and active risk mitigation
Job Requirements
  • Advanced degree (MS/MBA), Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
  • +10 years of finance/accounting experience in similar roles of which +5 years leading teams of 4 people or more
  • Experience working for US or European headquartered company. Ability to operate with independence from local management to balance accountability
  • Strong understanding of international and Chinese accounting standards and tax rules. Understanding of Chinese corporate and labor laws is a plus
  • Good communication skills. Fluency in English and Mandarin required, oral and written
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with hands‑on‑attitude. Willingness to understand business and desire to learn
