Job summary

Ambition is seeking an experienced Head of Finance (APAC) to lead the Asia finance function, partner with Group and regional leadership, and drive regional transformation across multiple APAC markets.

The role entails setting the financial direction for Asia, overseeing Controlling and FP&A, and delivering robust governance, reporting and cross-country collaboration. A senior, strategic leader with Big 4 background and strong IFRS knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and regional APAC tax/regulatory understanding.
• Experience leading multi-country finance teams and partnering with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Set the financial direction for Asia with consistent planning, reporting, and controls across regional offices.
• Lead regional FP&A and Controlling with standard planning and forecasting.
• Partner with Group leadership on M&A evaluation, investment appraisal and integration planning.
• Provide senior assurance on legal entity accounting and management reporting across APAC sites.
• Act as Asia's liaison for internal and external audits and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and coach regional finance leaders and site-embedded business partners.
• Drive consistency, accountability and control maturity across multiple markets.
• Challenge regional leadership on commercial, operational, and investment decisions.

Our client is a well-established manufacturing company with a significant Asia Pacific footprint. With regional entities spanning multiple APAC markets, they are seeking an experienced Head of Finance (APAC) to lead their Asia finance function and partner closely with Group and regiona leadership.

About the Role

This is a senior leadership mandate with a dual remit - strategic finance partnering and regional transformation. You will set the financial direction for the Asia region, partnering with regional and Group leadership on commercial decisions, investment appraisal, and M&A activity, while providing senior assurance over statutory and management reporting across all APAC entities. Equally, you will lead and develop the region's Controlling and FP&A team, building a consistent finance culture across multiple countries and sites.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Finance & Business Partnering

• Set the financial direction for Asia, ensuring consistent planning, reporting, controls and decision support across all regional offices
• Support Group-led strategic initiatives including M&A evaluation, investment appraisal and integration planning
• Provide constructive challenge to regional leadership on commercial, operational and investment decisions

Financial Governance & Assurance

• Act as Asia's primary liaison for internal and external audit
• Provide senior assurance that legal entity accounting and management reporting meets Group requirements across all sites

Regional Leadership & Transformation

• Lead the region's Controlling and FP&A team, setting planning and forecasting standards aligned to Group cadence
• Develop and coach regional finance leaders and site-embedded business partners across Asia
• Drive consistency, accountability and control maturity across multiple markets

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Big 4 audit background with 10 to 15 years of relevant experience including regional APAC oversight
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing multi-country finance teams
• Strong IFRS knowledge and solid grasp of APAC tax regulations
• Proficient in MS Office and ERP experience is a plus
• Strong communicator with the ability to influence senior non-finance stakeholders across multiple markets
