About the Role

Reporting to the Director, EC Business unit, you will own the Thermal strategy, ensuring a strong, consumer-driven portfolio that meets market needs and drives commercial success. From shaping global launch plans to optimising lifecycle performance, you will oversee every aspect of the category’s commercial journey, ensuring that we revitalise, maintain and grow our leadership.

To achieve this, you will collaborate across Dyson – partnering with Engineering, Finance, Operations, Revenue, Office of CEO and Market teams – ensuring the commercial voice is at the heart of our decision-making. You will act as a strategic advocate for Environmental care within Dyson, leveraging market insights, competitive analysis, and consumer trends to drive innovation, engagement, and growth.

Key responsibilities:

General

  • Maximize sales and profits of the sub-business unit: Thermal Comfort
  • Establish and maintain the highest standard for the Dyson brand.

Strategic leadership

  • Develop and articulate the long-term vision for the sub-category, outlining priorities for innovation, market positioning, and portfolio optimisation.
  • Guard the existing product portfolio and to make sure that markets are selling the correct portfolio. Help identify range opportunities and potential optimization on quality and product cost to maintain the ongoing success of the product lifecycle, from cradle to grave.
  • Work alongside the Portfolio planning team (Office of CEO) to advise NPI on the future portfolio through consumer insights, spec, and key claims to lead in the marketplace.
  • Develop and coordinate all New Product Delivery (NPD) “business cases” across the full product lifecycle in collaboration with different areas of the company.
  • Own NPD launch readiness. Check alignment and readiness with key promotors from engineering, quality, marketing, revenue and supply chain. Produce NPD launch reports in collaboration w/ Global revenue team.
  • Be a voice for EC internally, working closely across functions to energise, galvanise and enable teams to achieve the 5 year vision.

Commercial excellence

  • Launch planning: Lead global launch strategies, ensuring flawless execution across channels and markets.
  • Pricing recommendations: Develop multi-year pricing recommendations that balance profitability, competitive positioning, and market-specific needs.
  • Go-to-market (GTM) strategy: Drive tailored GTM strategies for the sub-category, integrating insights from channel dynamics, consumer profiles, and market conditions.
  • Collaborate with EC BU Campaigns team to create best-in-class campaigns, infused with market and consumer insights, and relevant to markets.

Performance management

  • Monitor sales, come up with ideas to manage gaps to targets.
  • Forecasting and financial modelling: Own long-term volume forecasting for the category, partnering with Finance to shape business case and investment recommendations..
  • Portfolio optimisation: Regularly evaluate the portfolio to ensure a balance of complexity and market coverage, driving efficiency and growth optimising for both consumer needs and commercial results.

Collaboration and communication

  • Cross-functional partnering: Act as a key interface between Engineering, Operations, CRO, Office of CEO and the wider EC team, ensuring alignment and efficient delivery of category objectives.
  • Stakeholder management: Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Dyson, driving alignment on business cases and priorities.
  • Team leadership: Inspire and guide cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring alignment on category goals.

  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a track record of delivering impactful insights and recommendations.
  • Ability to manage complex projects, prioritize deliverables and work effectively in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Outstanding communication and influencing skills, with ability to galvanise the wider business, drive cross functional alignment and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in working in a global environment, able to collaborate taking into account cultural differences.
