About the Role

We are supporting a confidential regional search for a Head of Engineering to lead engineering strategy, technical governance, and delivery oversight across a growing data centre platform in APAC. This is a senior leadership role with regional remit, responsible for setting engineering standards, guiding multi‑country project delivery, and acting as the technical authority across design, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide regional engineering leadership across multiple data centre projects (greenfield, brownfield, hyperscale, and colocation)
• Own and set engineering standards, design guidelines, and technical governance across CSA and MEP disciplines
• Act as the final technical authority for design reviews, value engineering, risk assessments, and change control
• Oversee engineering performance across consultants, EPCs, and contractors, ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance
• Partner closely with Development, Delivery, Operations, and Commercial teams to support project execution and long‑term asset performance
• Lead and mentor country‑level Engineering Managers / Design Managers
• Drive constructability, programme optimisation, and cost efficiency without compromising reliability or resilience
• Support commissioning strategy, RFS readiness, and post‑handover technical resolution
• Engage with clients, hyperscalers, and internal stakeholders on technical requirements and delivery commitments
• Stay ahead of industry trends including high‑density cooling, sustainability, power resilience, and future‑ready DC design

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
• 15+ years’ experience in data centre or mission‑critical infrastructure
• Proven experience operating at regional or multi‑country leadership level
• Strong background in engineering leadership, design management, or technical governance
• Deep understanding of data centre MEP/CSA systems, delivery sequencing, commissioning, and operational interfaces
• Experience working with global design consultancies, EPC contractors, and developers/operatorsStrong stakeholder management skills, able to operate at executive and board level
• Comfortable working in fast‑paced, high‑growth environments
• Willingness to travel regionally as required

Ideal Background

• Former Head of Engineering / Engineering Director / Technical Director
• Experience within DC developers, hyperscalers, colocation providers, or mission‑critical consultancies
• Exposure across APAC markets preferred
