Job Responsibilities
Curriculum and Instructional Excellence

Lead in the development of the vision, educational goals and priorities to guide curriculum for assigned domain/level/track

Lead the planning, implementation and evaluation of school-based curriculum or programmes for the assigned domain/level/track

Customise curriculum, pedagogy and assessment methods to enhance students’ learning experiences for assigned domain/level/track

Lead the implementation of a framework for monitoring and evaluating instructional programmes, classroom practices and student progress for assigned domain/level/track

Holistic Student Development

Lead the integration of IEP/ITP goals into lesson planning; collaborate with families and Allied Professionals to achieve desired outcomes for all students for the assigned domain/level/track

Develop and implement programmes to support student character development and social emotional skills for the assigned domain/level/track

Professional Development

Develop professional development roadmaps and in‑house programmes for assigned domain/level/track

Facilitate school professional learning teams and network learning communities in the SPED sector

Proactively seek learning opportunities and set stretch goals to drive own professional and holistic development

Mentorship and People Development

Provide ongoing feedback and mentorship to Teachers to encourage performance improvement, reflective practice and facilitate skill development

Evaluate direct reports’ (Teachers) progress and performance, and provide coaching/mentoring

Projects, Programme(s) and Initiatives

Lead cross‑functional teams to plan and implement school or organisation‑wide programmes/initiatives/events

Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement

Establish and develop partnerships with stakeholders (e.g. families/caregivers, community or mainstream partners, allied professionals) to achieve desired outcomes

Lead the development of communication materials for families/caregivers, community or commercial partners, etc. for relevant programmes/initiatives

Organisational Management and Development

Foster a culture of integrity, professionalism, collaboration and innovation in assigned domain/level/track

Lead the formulation, implementation and evaluation of work plans and initiatives related to assigned domain/level/track to ensure alignment with the school’s vision and priorities

Plan and manage allocated budget and resources for the assigned domain/level/track

Other Expectations

Support the development and implementation of induction programmes for new staff

Support the selection and assessment of Senior/Teacher Assistants and Teachers

Participate in organisation‑wide programmes and initiatives

Undertake any other relevant duties as and when assigned by the Principal, AWWA CEO or School Management Committee

Job Specifications
  • Diploma in Special Education by NIE (For trained teacher)
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience with at least 2 years in a Senior Teacher position
  • Prior experience working with persons with autism will be an added advantage
  • Be an exemplary and holistic social leader who is insightful and courageous
  • Lead the organisation and its members through effective management and leadership practices aligned with MISSION Framework and Serving Leadership Principles
