Income Insurance is undergoing a strategic transformation across its business and technology landscape. As part of this ambitions journey, Income is looking at building its data analytics capability and adoption across the organisation. This includes focus areas such as changing organisation culture around data, increasing the usage of data in decision making and enabling advanced concepts like ecosystem partnering, AI and GenAI driven solutions to improve decision making, process and strategy.
Over the years, Income Insurance has built a strong Data and Analytics team. We are now looking for a seasoned analytics leader to be part of this award-winning team. We are seeking a strategic, analytical, and technically adept Head of Business Intelligence to lead our experienced team of BI and analytics developers. This role is pivotal in shaping and managing our enterprise-wide business intelligence assets, including Tableau dashboards, strategic analysis, and executive review papers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of BI and analytics professionals.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Strategic Partnership
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders across Insurance, Marketing, and Product to understand business needs and translate them into actionable BI solutions.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, providing data-driven insights and strategic recommendations to improve business propositions, performance and customer impact.
- BI Asset Management
- Oversee the design, development, and governance of enterprise BI assets, including Tableau dashboards and strategic review materials.
- Lead in driving analytics self-service strategy and user training.
- Technical Leadership
- Drive the adoption of best practices in data visualization, reporting, and analytics.
- Stay abreast of emerging BI technologies and methodologies to continuously enhance our capabilities.
- Lead in discussions with Technology to ensure for appropriate infrastructure support
- Performance & Impact
- Define and track KPIs to measure the effectiveness and impact of BI initiatives.
- Promote data literacy and self-service analytics across the organization.
- Strategic Projects
- To support the Chief Data Officer and Income management in strategic projects where appropriate
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data strategy, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in the insurance or banking/financial services industry, with demonstrated ability to apply analytics to inform business and customer performance and strategy.
- Demonstrated expertise in Tableau and other modern BI platforms, with a strong grasp of data visualization and storytelling.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, with the ability to guide and review complex queries and data transformations.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, particularly in data storage, processing, and analytics (e.g., Redshift, S3).
- Strong understanding of data governance, data quality frameworks, and best practices in data management, with in complex regulatory environment
- Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders across business and technology functions.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to delivery and problem-solving.
