Job description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cluster Head of Air Freight to lead and develop the Air Freight product across the Singapore–Malaysia cluster, ensuring commercial growth, operational excellence, and alignment with GFS Air Product strategy. The ideal candidate will bring strong industry knowledge, proven leadership in operational environments, and a drive to grow the business.

As Cluster Head, you will be responsible for leading daily operations, managing key customer and vendor relationships, pricing and procurement, and overseeing financial performance.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for overall Air Freight P&L for the Singapore–Malaysia cluster.
• Define and execute the Air Freight strategy for the Singapore–Malaysia cluster, aligned with GFS Air Product direction and corporate objectives.
• Manage cross-border trucking services as an enabler to the air freight network, ensuring efficient first- and last-mile connectivity between Singapore and Malaysia.
• Oversee gateway and hub operations in both markets, ensuring service consistency, compliance, and operational resilience.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with airlines, GSAs, and logistics service providers, optimizing capacity, pricing, and performance.
• Oversee procurement of non-preferred carriers and local rate negotiations to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
• Support regional and global bids through pricing input, operational feasibility review, and coordinated execution with the COE and commercial teams.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through reliable service performance, proactive issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
• Balance resources and priorities between Singapore, Malaysia, and the COE to support scalable and efficient product operations.
• Foster a culture of accountability, customer focus, and continuous improvement across the Air Freight organization.
• Get new customers onboard where existing relationships have been established.
• Work with the sales team in Sin and MYR to work on the pipeline and work on closures.

Requirements

• 12 - 15 years in the Freight Forwarding Industry with 3 – 5 years’ experience in managerial capacity leading multi-national teams.
• Strong knowledge of air pricing and procurement with good network and relationship with airlines, agents and trucking companies.
• Proven experience in managing air projects and solutions is advantageous.
• Skilled in building customer and vendor relationships.
• Commercially savvy with a growth mindset.
• Hands-on leader with a passion for teamwork and results.
• Familiarity with Cargowise One will be advantageous.
