Job summary

TENTEN Partners seeks a senior, hands-on AI engineering leader who will own strategy, architecture and scaling of enterprise AI capabilities across the organisation. You will lead a multidisciplinary AI engineering, ML, data science and applied AI function to move from experimentation to production with measurable business outcomes.

You will establish AI platforms, governance practices and evaluation frameworks while influencing critical architectural decisions and building reusable capabilities

Qualifications

• Proven ability to design and scale production-grade AI platforms and services.

Build the AI capabilities that will power the next generation of a large, complex enterprise.

I am partnering with a leading technology-driven organisation to appoint a senior, hands-on AI engineering leader who will own the strategy, architecture and scaling of enterprise AI capabilities across the organisation.

This is a rare opportunity for an AI leader who wants to operate at the intersection of deep technology, enterprise transformation and organisational leadership — building platforms and reusable AI capabilities that move beyond experimentation into production and measurable business outcomes.

The opportunity

You will lead a multidisciplinary organisation spanning AI engineering, machine learning, data science and applied AI, while remaining close enough to the technology to influence critical architectural and engineering decisions.

Your remit will span multiple generations of AI technology, including:

You will establish the AI platforms, engineering standards, evaluation frameworks, operational disciplines and governance practices that enable AI adoption across multiple business domains.

What you'll be responsible for

AI Strategy & Architecture

• Define and execute the enterprise AI capabilities roadmap
• Establish reusable AI services, frameworks, reference architectures and engineering standards
• Lead technical decisions across AI platforms, models, agents and infrastructure

AI Engineering Leadership

• Build, lead and develop teams of AI engineers, ML engineers, data scientists and AI product specialists
• Develop organisational capability across GenAI, Agentic AI, ML, optimisation and digital twins
• Create a culture of technical excellence, innovation and accountability

GenAI & Agentic AI

• Architect enterprise-grade AI agent systems incorporating orchestration, retrieval, tool use, memory and human oversight
• Establish standards for RAG, prompt engineering, evaluation, safety, observability and governance
• Ensure AI systems are scalable, reliable, secure and cost-effective

Hands-on Technical Leadership

• Challenge and review model architectures, data pipelines, feature engineering and training methodologies
• Improve model and agent performance across accuracy, reliability, latency and cost
• Lead root-cause analysis and continuous optimisation of deployed AI systems

Production AI & Operations

• Translate business opportunities into scalable AI products and services
• Embed AI into operational workflows, customer experiences and decision-making
• Establish AI/MLOps, LLMOps and AgentOps disciplines across the full lifecycle
• Drive platform reliability, monitoring, evaluation and operational excellence

Portfolio & Investment

• Identify emerging AI opportunities and technologies
• Prioritise investments based on business value, technical feasibility, scalability and ROI
• Make strategic build-vs-buy, technology and resource allocation decisions

Enterprise Leadership & Responsible AI

• Work across technology, data, security, governance and business functions to accelerate execution
• Communicate complex technical trade-offs to senior leadership
• Establish responsible AI, risk, privacy, security and deployment-readiness frameworks

What we're looking for

The role requires an established AI engineering leader who combines exceptional technical depth with the ability to build teams, platforms and enterprise capabilities.

You are likely to bring:

• Significant leadership experience across AI/ML and modern AI technologies at large enterprises and managed teams of 40+
• Deep hands-on understanding of GenAI, LLMs and Agentic AI
• Experience designing and scaling production-grade AI platforms and services
• Strong engineering foundations across architecture, MLOps/LLMOps/AgentOps and AI operations
• Experience leading multidisciplinary AI organisations
• A track record of turning AI opportunities into measurable business outcomes
• Strong product thinking and commercial judgement
• The ability to operate credibly with engineers while influencing senior executives
• Experience navigating complex enterprise environments, governance and responsible AI requirements
